What is PSA Technology

PSA N2

Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) is a gas separation technology. Its principle is based on the difference in the adsorption properties of different gas molecules by an adsorbent (such as zeolite or carbon molecular sieve), which allows the separation of gas mixtures. This technology uses air as the raw material and employs highly efficient, highly selective adsorbents to selectively adsorb nitrogen or oxygen from the air, thereby achieving nitrogen-oxygen separation.

How PSA works?

A PSA system typically uses two adsorption towers that alternate between two phases:

1. Adsorption Phase: Compressed air passes through one tower. Oxygen or nitrogen and other impurities are adsorbed, while nitrogen or oxygen flows through to the storage tank.

2. Desorption (Regeneration) Phase: The tower depressurizes, releasing the adsorbed gases. This prepares the tower for the next cycle.

This cycle then repeats continuously, ensuring a steady flow of nitrogen or oxygen generated at the desired purity level.

Pressure Swing Adsorption technology continues to evolve, offering reliable, efficient, and high-purity gas solutions across various sectors. Its adaptability and cost-effectiveness make it a preferred choice for industries seeking sustainable and scalable gas separation methods.
